Wow.  Hard to adapt.  But so far so good.  We'll see when things get really busy.  Climbing Fuji on Saturday!

Werewolf
I'm getting rather irritated.  I signed up to co-mod a game because the mod was being slow during a time when I could assist.  I don't know the rules (it's a Play By Forum of an actual game) but all I was going to do was help with vote tallies and behind the scenes stuff.

Now the mod has all but disappeared, leaving me to run the whole thing by myself.  I'm constantly screwing things up with one player, I totally ignored one section of the rules and had to redo a turn, and am generally being a sucky mod.  But I never intended to run the damn game!  Now I'm getting a reputation for not knowing what to do as a mod and not paying attention to detail.

It's just fucking frustrating.  And no one signs up for games I plan on modding solo anyway.

Beta Reading

I'm signed up for the Beta Readers community on ff.net because, hey, it's fanfiction, and I like reading and editing.  And stuff.

I got an e-mail from a guy who is trying to write a novel and wants feedback on the first chapter.

How much feedback is appropriate?  Is it okay to say "Your sentences sound like you're trying too hard for elegance."?

Staying Up Late
I think I should stop staying up very very late.  Cohesive thoughts elude me at 5 in the morning.

Right.

Jason is visiting. Jason is sometimes very cool. Jason is a gamer. This gives him cool credits.

However. Whenever playing a game with Jason, he has an annoying habit.

Jason: "I cast Humility on that, it becomes an 0/1 until the end of the turn and loses all it's abilities, and kill it." *snicker/snort*

Now, whenever playing a game with anyone, I know that they are not fools and likely have a strategy that they are working to implement and beat me with. And that's fine. The snort/snicker after EVERY GODDAMN STRATEGIC MOVE is annoying.

Like, reach across table, choke, and bash head against table annoying.

It amuses me greatly.  Hee.

I graduated today!

I actually took pictures!  I shall post some.  I am in one. -_-

The members of Sigma Tau Delta got individually recognized (Or rather, the 6 of us [out of 900 assembled] that were there got to stand up).  It was major coolness.  We were all like o.o.  It was cute.

But yes, I am no longer an undergrad!  Huzzah!

Chile's
We went to Chile's for lunch to celebrate,  I had the Wings over Buffalo.  Om nom nom nom. Good nom nom.  And The El Presidente margarita.  And I finished my mom's Tequila Sunrise.  And the rest of my dad's margarita.

I was out like a light on the ride home.  And for 2 hours once we got home.

Hee.

Mother's Day
Growing up in a Trekkie household has its advantages, like going to see Star Trek as the Mother's Day gift.  =D

I liked it a lot.  The characters were campy enough to match their ToS counterparts and real enough to believe.  I'm irritated with the plot, but that's another issue.

Overall, I liked it =D

College
Tonight, I got inducted into SUNY New Paltz's chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honors Society.

The ceremony was nice, each of the presenting professors introduced the inductees and said a bit about them.  professor Holland (who else?) introduced me, stating that I impressed her with my bravery in one course by writing on a tough topic (And it was hard.  But fun.) and in a other course by writing a paper about footnotes.  Which was insanely fun.

It's scary when writing papers is fun.

So yay.  There was yummy cake too.

It's a Small World
Guess whose boyfriend I ran into at the SUNY New Paltz Bookstore today?

The encounter was actually rather amusing.  My sister and I were picking up our caps and gowns (Graduate in May!) and the bookstore had set up a "Commencement" area.  So we asked for assistance and the guy at the front desk said he'd call Liam out.  We waited for a minute and he came out and asked for our IDs.

I looked at him.  And I looked at him again.  And again.  And my brain was all "...Liam...face...Liam...face...Liam...face...Li- HOLY SHIT I KNOW THAT GUY!"

So we asked and he was The Liam =D

It's a small world.

(I was all proud of my brain for making a Face to Name association too!)

It seemed pretty good, actually.  Asked questions like "Who uses magic?  Everyone? Elite few? Supernatural creatures only?"

I suppose it's interesting because I don't have a plan when I write XD

My eyes need to... something.

I was reading Wordsworth's Preface to Lyrical Ballads for Lit. Crit. and I swear one of the lines said "the power of human imagination is sufficient to produce such marshmallows."

Yay for imaginary marshmallows?

Procrastinating
I'm a procrastinator. I think that's fairly obvious by the fact that most of my posts are of the "I don't want to do this project that I've left til the last minute!" variety.

But I put off sleep. Somehow, my brain has gotten the idea that I don't need sleep or something. I just have no desire to sleep. Unless I'm already sleeping, then I have no desire to get up.

That's fun.

Werewolf
So, in order to stave off sleep, I'm going to ramble about Werewolf for a while.

Rules of the Game under the cut... )

Games
I've come to the realization that while I love playing games, I love learning the rules to a game almost as much if not as much or more than actually playing it.  Give me a rulebook and I will devour it.  Somehow my brain will just play out the game without me having to when I read the rules.  It's great.

I seriously get enjoyment out of reading rules to games.  I wonder if that's a marketable skill? ;)
